Responsibilities
- Patient Service: Courteously advises patients of collection and billing procedures, ensures understanding of their liability, and addresses questions and concerns.
- Customer Service: Welcomes patients courteously, maintains a complaint rate below 5 per year, and facilitates access to patient rights and Advance Directives.
- Registration: Accurately registers patients in Epic, monitors patient schedules, and arranges payment plans.
- Documentation: Documents patient referrals accurately, schedules and reschedules appointments, and processes patient files.
- Clerical Duties: Completes various clerical tasks efficiently, such as answering phone calls, retrieving medical records, and typing memos.
- Payor Regulations: Researches and resolves claim edits and denials within 2 days, and verifies and collects patient payments.
- Account Management: Verifies account balances, reconciles daily cash funds, and maintains accurate patient records.
- Training: Provides training and orientation for other team members when assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience: 6 months in a customer service/front desk role or a graduate of a front office/medical office program.
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Skills: Professional demeanor, excellent customer service skills, ability to multi-task, critical thinking, proficient computer literacy, and proficiency in Epic.
