Responsibilities

• Obtains accurate patient identification for walk in arrivals, at bedside and/or at designated desk;
• Explains Condition of Admission;
• Collects Cash, Check or Credit Card Payments and maintains cash drawer;
• Verifies/notifies insurance company by phone, fax, or website;
• Maintains work queues; notes encounters in EHR for follow up;
• Schedules and transcribes patient appointments and procedures;
• Counsels patient family members and/or insurance to answer questions or explain hospital policies;
• Completes all financial assistance process on all self-pay, under insured, or uninsured patients.

Qualifications

Essential: HS Diploma/GED
Other Information Required: 1+ years related experience
