About the role

Baptist Health is hiring an experienced Patient Access Representative II for Baptist Downtown. This position involves registering patients accurately and efficiently, utilizing multiple patient access areas, and maintaining service excellence for both face-to-face and telephone encounters. You will contribute to Patient Access Services (PAS) goals such as collections and palm scanning, ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations (EMTALA, AHCA, JCAHO), maintain professional relationships with clinical and non-clinical team members, articulate compliance documentation, complete required patient consent forms, and uphold patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a large volume of inbound and outbound calls in a timely manner
  • Handle Central Scheduling Voicemail
  • Schedule patient appointments with Baptist Health System cardiologists
  • Follow call scripts for handling different scenarios
  • Identify customer needs and provide solutions
  • Manage Scheduling OnBase queue and index documentation in EPIC
  • Perform data entry tasks
  • Route calls as appropriate
  • Provide excellent customer service

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of State and Federal regulations including EMTALA, AHCA, and JCAHO
  • Ability to maintain patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines

Schedule

Full-Time, 4:00 PM - 2:00 AM, Wednesday - Saturday
