Patient Access Representative I - Full-Time

About the role

The Patient Access Representative provides timely and accurate pre-registration, registration, and patient information management for in-patient, out-patient, emergency, and surgical services.

Responsibilities

• Collect demographic, insurance, and clinical data
• Screen for third-party eligibility
• Enter medical necessity coding
• Interact with patients to ensure understanding of billing and payment options
• Perform duties under supervision, adhering to policies
• Deliver quality patient-centered service in a healthcare environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (associate degree in healthcare or business preferred)
• Valid driver’s license if performing off-site duties
• 1–2 years of healthcare customer service, registration, or billing experience

Skills

• Strong data entry skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Bilingual abilities are a plus
