Patient Access Representative (Financial Counselor)

Responsibilities

• Screens patients for coverage and assistance
• Counsels on financial responsibilities
• Affords financial aid and reduces bad debt
• Maximizes collections and identifies outstanding balances
• Supports system usability and contributes to process improvements
• Performs duties related to patient access and registration

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or higher
• 2+ years in a hospital or medical setting
• Proficiency in Windows and MS Office
• Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail
• Flexibility to work during hours of operation and occasional overtime
• Vaccination compliance

Preferred Skills

• Experience with electronic health records
• Hospital registration or patient account services
