Patient Access Representative
About the role
This position is responsible for covering any aspect of the business office necessary, including patient registration, insurance benefits communication, patient outreach, and chart preparation. You will coordinate provider communication and documentation management—collecting, reviewing, and distributing patient records to support timely coding, billing, and revenue cycle objectives. The role also facilitates medical records coordination and serves as a liaison with the Central Billing Office to ensure accurate and timely claim submission and reimbursement. You will provide cross-functional support to business office operations and perform additional duties as assigned by the Business Office Manager to promote the efficient and effective operation of the ambulatory surgery center.
Successful candidates will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating outstanding multi-tasking abilities, strong communication, and teamwork. Previous positive customer service experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Patient registration and insurance benefits communication
- Patient outreach and chart preparation
- Coordinate provider communication and manage documentation, including collection, review, and distribution of patient records
- Support timely coding, billing, and revenue cycle objectives
- Facilitate medical records coordination and serve as a liaison with the Central Billing Office
- Ensure accurate and timely claim submission and reimbursement
- Provide cross-functional support to business office operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Business Office Manager
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of hospital or medical office experience
- Familiarity with medical terminology and coding
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients and insurance providers
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and other relevant software

Schedule
Monday – Friday daytime work hours at the surgical center.
