Job Summary

Representative thrives in a fast-paced, team oriented environment with professionals in neurology, pain management, chiropractic, physical therapy and many more. This position is cross-trained in all clinical administrative processes, therefore the Patient Access Representative will also answer phones, check in and out patients, perform patient reminder calls, and enter information into the EMR. The Patient Access Representative is required to maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Top candidates for this role show a strength in administering fantastic customer service skills.

Duties

  • Greets and interacts with patients in a friendly and polite manner.
  • Performs data entry through Electronic Medical Record system.
  • Maintains medical records and patient confidentiality.
  • Answers phone calls in a friendly manner.
  • Registers patients and schedules appointments.
  • Able to multitask and move between responsibilities in fluid manner.
  • Adheres to Jcaho hospital standards and PolicyStat policies.
  • Monitors supplies and inventory as needed.

  • 6 months of relevant customer service experience preferred

Physical Requirements

  • May be expected to lift up to 15 - 30 pounds with assistance.
  • May be expected to push or pull 30 - 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Work is of medium demand; walking or standing most of the time while on duty.
  • Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties required.
  • Optimal auditory acuity required.
  • Manual dexterity involving the handling of equipment and instruments or needles is essential to performing assigned duties.
  • Physical conditions are clean, neat and well lit.
  • May be subjected to unpleasant sights and odors, stressful situations and hazardous or infectious agents where judgement as to precautions needed to be taken is essential.
  • Climatic control and ambient temperature variances may be experienced and required by patient care and needs of the surgical team.
  • Exposure to limited amounts of radiation, hazardous chemicals or substances and infectious disease processes are a possibility.
  • Hours of duty may be irregular or unexpectedly extended due to the requirements of the daily surgical and clinic schedule.
