Patient Access Representative

Full-time position with variable hours and days.

About the role

The Patient Access Representative (PAR) provides customer-service coverage in centralized registration areas such as front office, outpatient, inpatient, and emergency department locations. In this role, the PAR is responsible for successful financial outcomes of all patient services and for thoroughly and accurately describing compliance and regulatory documents while maintaining patient relations, customer satisfaction, and Asante’s financial solvency.

Responsibilities

• Appointment scheduling
• Registration and insurance verification
• Telephone coverage and data entry
• Filing protected health information (PHI)
• Patient referrals and point-of-service collections

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience demonstrating effective communication (required)
• Associate degree in business, healthcare, or related field (preferred)
• Previous patient registration experience or related customer service, administrative, and/or data entry experience (required)
• CHAA: Certified Healthcare Access Associate through the National Association of Healthcare Access Management (preferred)

Pay

Starting wage: $18.09–$24.88 per hour, depending on experience.
