Patient Access Rep - St Bernard - 7a-7p 36 Hour Workweek including Rotating Weekends and Holidays

About the role

We're seeking a dynamic and compassionate individual to join our team as a Patient Service Representative. Your role will be vital in ensuring that our patients and guests receive the highest level of care and service.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and guests courteously via telephone or in person
• Schedule appointments or complete the check-in process/admission for patients
• Obtain and verify accurate identification and demographical data for the patient’s permanent medical record
• Initiate point-of-service collections and handle face-to-face patient interactions related to registration and admission
• Verify insurance via electronic means, phone, or web application
• Improve patient satisfaction through professional representation and cross-training to support multiple functions

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting
• Certification in Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM), Certification in Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA), or Certification as a Medical Assistant (or other medical specialty-based certification) preferred
• Proficiency with Windows-style applications and software packages specific to role
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to adapt to different patient populations
• Excellent decision-making and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate’s degree preferred
