Patient Access / Registration Rep - weekends

About the role

Completes patient registrations and pre-registration processes in the Emergency Department following department procedures using identified technology systems. Responsibilities include obtaining accurate demographic, insurance, and patient liability information, and working with multiple department/hospital and web-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs complete and accurate pre-registrations, registration, and admission functions
• Verifies insurance requirements and obtains and understands insurance benefits
• Ensures all entries concerning demographic, financial, and advanced directives are accurate
• Collects non-covered fees

Requirements

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
• One year experience in an accredited hospital or physician's office preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and interview skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer systems and devices
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurances

Schedule

• Part-time, 8 hours per week via every other weekend on 6:15 AM – 3:15 PM (weekend differential applies)
• Orientation/Training: 2 weeks Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, including classroom time in Springfield, MA
