Patient Access / Registration Rep - weekends
Description
Orientation is Monday through Friday from 8a-4:30p for 2-3 weeks. It includes time in Springfield at Mercy Medical Center. Afterward, the schedule is a day shift every other weekend.
Position Purpose
Completes patient registrations/pre-registration processes in the ED following department procedures using identified technology systems. Processes include obtaining accurate demographic, insurance and patient liability information. Responsible for working with multiple department/hospital and web-based systems.
What You Will Do
- Performs complete and accurate pre-registrations, registration, and admission functions
- Verifies insurance requirements, obtains and understands insurance benefits
- Ensures that all entries concerning demographic, financial and advanced directives are collected
- Collections non-covered fees
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum High school or equivalent
- One year experience in an accredited hospital or physician's office preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication and interview skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer systems and computer devices
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurances
Part time
8hrs per week via every other weekend on 6:15a-3:15pm. Weekend differential applies
Orientation
ON 8-4:30 DAYS FOR 2-3 WEEKS
Some will be in Springfield at Mercy Medical Center
3rd week required if less than 1 year hospital-based registration experience
