The Role

This is the job where the mission stops being a slogan and becomes a person waiting on a drug. As Patient Access Lead, you own the moment between "the patient needs their medication" and "the patient has the medication in their hands." When that path is smooth, nobody notices. When it breaks — a stalled prior auth, a drug shortage, a prescriber's office that won't pick up the phone — you're the person who notices first and fixes it.

What You'll Actually Do

  • Make sure patients get their medications. That's the whole point of the company, and it's your north star. Every day, ask the same question: who's waiting, and what's standing in the way?
  • Triage clinical urgency. Not every case is a fire, but some are, and telling the difference fast is the skill. You'll decide who needs what, and when, and route accordingly.
  • Cook up the whole chain — prescribers, pharmacies, patients, pharmacy benefits managers, partners and ZorroRX team members. You are the connective tissue. When five parties each think it's the other four's problem, you're the one who owns it.
  • Be scrappy when things break. Pharmacy can’t get a specific medication. Doctor’s offices ghost you. You'll chase, escalate, find the workaround, and get the patient their meds anyway.
  • Notice the patterns. When the same thing breaks twice, you flag it so we can fix the system, not just the symptom.

Who You Are

  • You're 0–2 years out of school, sharp, and you want the startup thing — the real one, with the mess and the ownership, not the ping-pong-table version.
  • You're relentless about follow-through. You don't let things fall through the cracks because a system is annoying to use.
  • You can hold two things at once: genuine care for the patient on the other end, and cold clarity about what needs to happen next.
  • You're comfortable on the phone, comfortable being told no, and comfortable turning that no into a yes.

Bonus, not required:

  • A clinical or pharmacy background, or a track record of running toward operational chaos instead of away from it.
