Essential Responsibilities
- Cleans and updates patient demographic data.
- Validates medical benefits and accurate plan codes.
- Identifies and verifies referral requirements.
- Contacts payors for authorization and referral information.
- Calculates and collects patient financial responsibilities.
- Escalates complex liability calculations to Financial Counselors.
- Ensures a positive patient experience.
- Maintains working relationships with various stakeholders.
- Communicates with internal and external contacts.
- Advises team lead on productivity issues.
- Assists team members with operational support and training.
- Resolves patient issues as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- One to three months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of related experience, preferably in a medical setting, financial services, or demanding customer service environment.
- Certification from Healthcare Financial Management Association or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative preferred.
- Call/Service Center experience.
