Essential Responsibilities

  • Cleans and updates patient demographic data.
  • Validates medical benefits and accurate plan codes.
  • Identifies and verifies referral requirements.
  • Contacts payors for authorization and referral information.
  • Calculates and collects patient financial responsibilities.
  • Escalates complex liability calculations to Financial Counselors.
  • Ensures a positive patient experience.
  • Maintains working relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Communicates with internal and external contacts.
  • Advises team lead on productivity issues.
  • Assists team members with operational support and training.
  • Resolves patient issues as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One to three months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of related experience, preferably in a medical setting, financial services, or demanding customer service environment.
  • Certification from Healthcare Financial Management Association or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative preferred.
  • Call/Service Center experience.
