About the role

This is a Full Time position working Mid shift hours. Shifts can be 8 or 10 hours. Every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting patients with a smile, answering the phone, entering information into the database, and performing general clerical duties.
  • Ensuring a pleasant, professional demeanor and making patients always feel welcome.
  • Multitasking by greeting patients in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner in both in-person and over the phone.
  • Checking patients in and out, verifying benefits, collecting copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles.
  • Aiding staff and patients with clerical duties such as copying, scanning, and faxing documents.
  • Creating and maintaining patient files.
  • Screens phone calls and directs them to the appropriate individual.
  • Taking and directing messages as necessary.
  • Providing callers with information such as company address, directions to the company location, company fax numbers, company website, and other related information.
  • Confirming all paperwork is filled out correctly.
  • Maintaining a clean and presentable front desk, waiting room area, and children’s play area.
  • Encouraging a friendly and respectful work environment.
  • Offering patients and their families a customer-focused, friendly, reassuring open environment that encourages patients to return to Intuitive Health.
  • Fulfilling all HIPAA policies and procedures.
  • Following all company policies.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.

  • Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems in standardized situations.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office setting is a plus.
  • Familiarity with health insurance and insurance verification.
  • Knowledge and skills regarding all general office equipment, including telephones, credit card machines, and fax.
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and to prioritize multiple demands effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills and customer service is required.
  • Solid work history.
