This position floats between regional locations as staffing dictates, providing excellent customer service and facilitating the registration and scheduling process for patients and visitors.

About the role

  • 100% onsite, 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
  • Business casual attire is mandatory; no scrubs
  • Role is 100% patient-facing
  • Caregivers will float to both locations:
    • Saint Joseph Hospital Rheumatology - Denver
      1830 Franklin Street, Suite 300, Denver, CO 80218
    • Saint Joseph Hospital Rheumatology - Northglenn
      11900 Grant St, Suite 220, Northglenn, CO 80233

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
  • Obtain and verify patient demographic, financial, and insurance information
  • Register and schedule patients for appointments, tests, and procedures
  • Collect and process co-pays, deductibles, and balances due at the time of service and complete end-of-day balance process
  • Provide patients with information on financial assistance, payment plans, and charity care
  • Explain and obtain signatures on consent forms, policies, and disclosures
  • Ensure adherence to Federal and state regulations, including the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA)
  • Apply a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, insurance protocols, and hospital policies to safeguard patient rights and ensure compliance
  • Provide patients with directions, maps, and parking information
  • Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow and quality care
  • Document and update patient records in the electronic health system
  • Follow up on pending issues, such as prior authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office, internet, and email
  • Experience with Epic preferred
  • Customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, is required
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs
  • Frequent interactions requiring verbal communication as well as hearing and understanding spoken information quickly and accurately
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate supplies and equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer use for typing and accessing information
  • For roles requiring driving: expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles

Pay

$19.41 - $28.14 per hour, dependent upon experience
