This position floats between regional locations as staffing dictates, providing excellent customer service and facilitating the registration and scheduling process for patients and visitors.
About the role
- 100% onsite, 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
- Business casual attire is mandatory; no scrubs
- Role is 100% patient-facing

Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
- Obtain and verify patient demographic, financial, and insurance information
- Register and schedule patients for appointments, tests, and procedures
- Collect and process co-pays, deductibles, and balances due at the time of service and complete end-of-day balance process
- Provide patients with information on financial assistance, payment plans, and charity care
- Explain and obtain signatures on consent forms, policies, and disclosures
- Ensure adherence to Federal and state regulations, including the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA)
- Apply a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, insurance protocols, and hospital policies to safeguard patient rights and ensure compliance
- Provide patients with directions, maps, and parking information
- Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow and quality care
- Document and update patient records in the electronic health system
- Follow up on pending issues, such as prior authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office, internet, and email
- Experience with Epic preferred
- Customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, is required

Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs
- Frequent interactions requiring verbal communication as well as hearing and understanding spoken information quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate supplies and equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer use for typing and accessing information
- For roles requiring driving: expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
Pay
$19.41 - $28.14 per hour, dependent upon experience
