Duties
- Greets patients/residents, verifies demographics, and registers/schedules patients/residents.
- Takes care of related paperwork, creates electronic files, scans, and routes necessary forms and documents.
- Edits patients/residents and captures signatures on necessary paperwork.
- Establishes and assigns financial responsibility and/or assists with arrangements while adhering to policies and procedures.
- Collections co-payments, pre-payments, and/or payments on account balances.
- Works through the registration work queue to address and resolve registration issues.
Responsibilities
- Schedules patient/resident appointments and procedures, obtains and coordinates referrals, conducts pre-authorization, arranges interpreter services, checks patients/residents in/out, and offers enrollment to additional resources.
- Collaborates with nursing team and providers to coordinate appointments to meet patients'/residents' needs.
- Coordinates provider schedule, resolves work queue issues, manages recall and waitlists.
- Operates multi-line telephones and may serve as a switchboard operator.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
- Customer service skills essential.
- Six months' customer service experience desired.
