About the role

The Pathfinder Director, Sales & Engineering is responsible for leading the sales, project management, and engineering teams for Pathfinder Power Solutions in a defined territory. This role involves developing new business opportunities, increasing market penetration, and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Defines the vision, strategies, and priorities for Pathfinder Power Solutions to improve growth, profitability, and market share.
  • Creates and achieves annual business plans, including budget, objectives, action plans, capital expenditures, headcount, inventory, and unit sales forecasts.
  • Maintains high levels of customer satisfaction as measured by various surveys.
  • Leads the Department in terms of corporate culture, embodying values like Safety, Integrity, Sense of Urgency, Teamwork, and Excellence.
  • Staffs and hires all departmental employees using a systematic process to assess current skills, define training needs, deliver training, and conduct annual performance evaluations.
  • Manages high-dollar capital assets, understands leasing, productivity, residual value, utilization, financing, and turnover.
  • Manages financial aspects of the department, evaluates risk vs. reward, and ensures profitable performance.
  • Uses Microsoft suite of business software and demonstrates excellent human relations skills, including listening, communicating, empathy, and coaching.
  • Works within a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

Requirements

  • A 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, or Engineering.
  • Broad mechanical and/or electrical background with a fundamental knowledge of diesel engines, power generation, hydraulic, and mechanical drive train componentry.
  • 10+ years of experience in the sale and application of drive train componentry with medium to high volume OEMs.
  • Experience with use of CRM to manage sales reporting, leverage customer information, account management, time and territory management.
  • Experience with financial management, evaluating risk vs. reward, and understanding the financial ramifications of strategic decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Experience in planning, sales, project management, and developing new business opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean, and similar process improvement tools.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate others and earn respect and loyalty.
  • Experience in hiring and developing staff.
  • Excellent human relations skills, including listening, communicating, empathy, and coaching.
  • Team mentality, delivering quality results, embracing change/improvement, exhibiting superior customer service skills, and working with a sense of urgency.
