About the role
Partner-level role for a boutique patent firm
Responsibilities
- Manage domestic and international patent prosecution for clients in the biotech, pharmaceutical, and life sciences sectors
- Draft and prosecute patent applications involving biologics, diagnostics, therapeutics, and related technologies
- Provide strategic counseling on IP portfolio management, freedom-to-operate, and patentability issues
- Collaborate with inventors, R&D teams, and in-house counsel to develop robust IP strategies
- Support due diligence, licensing, and transactional matters related to IP assets
Requirements
- JD and admission to at least one U.S. state bar
- Registration to practice before the USPTO
- 5+ years of experience in patent prosecution with a focus on life sciences
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field (preferred)
- Proven record of client development and management
- Book of business of at least 200k
