Pastry Supervisor - Blackberry Mountain
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cleanliness and organization of bakeshop
- Communication and ordering of all pastry specific supplies and equipment
- Proper rotation and monitoring of raw and finished products
- Helping oversee dessert production
- Helping in menu development under guidance from Pastry Chef/ Bread Baker
- Training of all pastry team members and other kitchen staff where necessary
- Completing monthly inventory
The Pastry Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the entire pastry department and daily operations and production of desserts. Essential duties include maintaining cleanliness and organization, managing supplies, ensuring proper product handling, assisting with menu development, training staff, and completing inventory.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Five years’ experience in Restaurant and Pastry or Culinary Education
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Restaurant and Pastry
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent
Education and experience requirements include a combination of culinary education and relevant work experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is also acceptable.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Must be able to write and speak clearly and effectively
- Must be able to compose effective recipes
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, managers, and team members
Language skills are crucial for this position, requiring clear communication both written and verbal, as well as the ability to create and convey recipes effectively.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Must be able to convert recipes into larger and smaller batches
- Thoroughly understand weights, measures, and conversion of both
Mathematical skills are important for accurately converting recipes and understanding measurements, which is vital for preparing and scaling ingredients.
REASONING ABILITY
- Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
