About the role

The Pastoral Care Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the spiritual care of the parish’s elderly, sick and patients at UNC Hospitals through organizing Eucharistic Minister visits, on-site Masses at care centers, homebound visits and anointing of the sick.

Responsibilities

• Directs volunteers to ensure schedules are clear and that parishioners in need of spiritual support receive care.
• Coordinates with care facilities and UNC Hospitals for the provision of on-site prayer services/Masses and Eucharistic Minister visits.
• Notifies clergy for specific requests for the Sacrament of the Sick and/or pastoral counseling.
• Assists the Deacon assigned to the Pastoral Care ministry to ensure recruitment and training of volunteers.
• Records in the sacramental register as required.
• Supervises ministry volunteers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of professional administrative support/logistics/customer service experience.
• Proficiency in Office 360/Teams applications.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Employment contingent upon passing a criminal background and reference check; must complete Diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training upon hire.

Qualifications

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
