Pastoral Associate

About the role

The Pastoral Associate at St. Ann Catholic Church South Chesterfield, VA provides pastoral care, coordinates parish ministries, and leads social outreach efforts to support the parish community. The role collaborates with the pastor, deacon, staff, and consultative bodies to implement the parish’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral care and support to parishioners
• Coordinate parish ministries and events

Requirements

• Catholic in good standing
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience in theology, social work, pastoral ministry, or a related field (preferred)
• Experience working with underserved populations
• Strong understanding of Catholic Social Teaching and principles
• Strong pastoral presence, compassion, empathy, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational, budgeting, record-keeping, and volunteer leadership skills
• Able to maintain confidentiality, prioritize responsibilities, and effectively manage multiple tasks
