About the role

The Driver operates a company vehicle to transport residents and staff to community appointments under the supervision of the Operations Manager. The role involves driving safely, maintaining vehicle logs, and providing support to passengers.

Responsibilities

  • Drive vehicle safely with attention to speed, radio volume, and vehicle mechanics.
  • Maintain vehicle trip logs and inspect the vehicle daily.
  • Turn in logs weekly to Operations Manager and report vehicle maintenance issues.
  • Follow safety guidelines and body mechanics.
  • Communicate with facility via cell phone every time moving between locations.
  • Manage the Master Trip Scheduling Board and staff communication log.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and passenger safety.
  • Document general information and respond to incidents.
  • Transport program participants to scheduled appointments.
  • Attend and participate in required staff training sessions.
  • Support floor coverage when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Class C License required.
  • Certification of defensive driving course required.
  • Valid California Drivers' License with proof of insurance.
  • Safe driving record based on Phoenix House policy.
  • TB test clearance and annual updates.

  • Proficiency in MS Office systems.

  • Understanding of addiction, co-occurring models, and treatment modalities.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
