About the role

The primary function of the Parts Warehouse Associate is receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse, and pick-up and delivery of orders.

Responsibilities

  • Process customer returns, including cores, adhering to inspection and return criteria.
  • Ship eligible dealer cores and part returns to the originating vendors.
  • Ensure accuracy of parts inventory by performing cycle and random bin counts.
  • Accept and receive freight from freight companies after inspecting and verifying the condition of shipment and noting any damage to shipment documents.
  • Research discrepancies on orders and/or invoices (e.g., overages, shortages, duplicates, damaged) for the purpose of correcting errors and/or returning damaged/incorrect parts.
  • Pick and pull parts for outgoing parts orders.
  • Deliver and pick up parts from vendors and customers as needed.
  • Perform a variety of tasks within the warehouse to support warehouse operations and the sales team.
  • Maintain work area and surrounding areas for cleanliness, organization, and proper supplies required to perform duties.
  • Participate in annual and random physical inventories for the purpose of verifying stock and identifying losses.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend English instructions and information.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in shipping: knowledge of bills of lading and freight bills.
  • Packaging skills: knowledge of how material should be packed to reach its destination economically and without damage.
  • Excellent organization, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate warehouse forklift and complete formal training program.

Working Conditions

This position involves both sedentary and physical work. For part of the shift, the employee will work at a desk in a warehouse setting doing paperwork, telephoning, and filing. For part of the shift, the employee will stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach, moving around the dealership facility to communicate with managers, employees, and customers. Lifting of at least 50 lbs. without assistance on a daily basis, as well as heavier loads with forklifts and/or additional assistance, will be required. Exposure to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, and a variety of other hazardous and nonhazardous materials is expected.
