Parts Sales Assistant
About the role
This position supports the Bessemer Parts Group with administrative, inventory, vendor, billing, and customer service responsibilities. It is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and interested in learning and growing within the industrial parts and overhead crane industry.
Responsibilities
- Update pricing in the Sage/MAS ERP system on a regular basis.
- Communicate with DeSHAZO vendors regarding pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
- Assist with aftermarket parts sales quotes and customer requests.
- Assist with customer billing and documentation through DocuWare.
- Assist with manual parts pulls and inventory adjustments.
- Maintain accurate inventory and parts-related records.
- Collect and send customer credit and tax information for updates to customer records, billing, and shipping information.
- Provide general administrative and customer service support to the Bessemer Parts Group.
- Assist with other Service department projects and responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong communication and telephone skills.
- Prior experience with an ERP system required; experience with Sage/MAS is preferred.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Self-motivated and dependable.
- Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
- Strong follow-up skills with the ability to see tasks through to completion.
- Ability and willingness to learn new systems, processes, and products.
- Ability to work effectively in both an office and warehouse environment.
Physical Requirements
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time on concrete floors.
- Climbing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and occasionally lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms.
Working Conditions
Tasks are performed at the Bessemer office/warehouse facility. Duties will be performed both inside the office and in the parts warehouse. Warehouse conditions may include exposure to heat, cold, dust, dirt, and loud noise. This position routinely uses standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing systems, and other office equipment.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some flexibility in start time. Overtime may be required based on business needs and project deadlines.
