About the role

This position will support the team that sells to special markets accounts. The role will include supporting our in-house team and our commissioned rep gift sales force. Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the commissioned gift rep sales force, including attending seasonal gift shows.
  • Prepare title presentations for in-house accounts.
  • Oversee event orders and author orders.
  • Liaise between sales and other departments (marketing, publishers, SRE, operations, inventory).
  • Manage price increases and other attribute changes and communicate those changes quickly to the RDS team.
  • Maintain Smart Returns attributions and communicate changes.
  • Track and upload coop for all Reader link accounts.
  • Manage sample mailings and sales materials.

Qualifications

  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office—particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workflow to meet critical deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, commitment to quality and strong team player.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to change.
  • Experience: entry-level—experience in publishing or with a literary agent a plus.
  • Education: Associate’s Degree/College Diploma.

Pay

Annual salary: $52,000.00

Schedule

Based in New York City with a minimum of two days per week in the SoHo office; additional in‑office attendance may be required if essential functions demand it.
