Responsibilities
- Perform jet engine piece part cleaning and abrasive blast processes, including removing grease, corrosion, and preparing parts for overhaul using cleaning compounds, chemical solutions, spray guns, and brushes.
- Complete forms associated with work assignments following established procedures.
- Conduct abrasive blast activities for highly engineered products, including cleaning, coating preparation, and surface treatments.
- Maintain and control equipment, processes, tools, fixtures, supplies, and safety equipment for specific shop orders.
- Load and unload hardware and fixturing manually or using forklifts, cranes, or other lifting devices.
- Meet or exceed core competency expectations for safety, quality, productivity, attendance/punctuality, and teamwork.
- Read and interpret diagrams and specifications, following detailed work instructions and procedures with limited supervision.
- Ensure safe working practices, adhere to safety rules, and maintain a clean work environment.
- Act as a cross-functional team member, demonstrating gas turbine abrasive blast process skills through component processing.
- Use pneumatic and electrical grinding tools to blend defects, welded areas, and restore parts to original contours on aero-derivative gas turbines.
Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or GED, or relevant work experience in lieu of education.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- US work authorization; the company will not sponsor work-authorized visas.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Qualifications
- Experience in grit blast processing operations (desired).
- Knowledge of proper safety practices and personal protective equipment in repair and manufacturing (desired).
- Experience with maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repair of industrial equipment.
- Ability to learn and operate equipment such as air pressure systems, cranes, and forklifts.
