Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day parts operations including ordering, inventory control, and over-the-counter sales.
- Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate parts department staff.
- Ensure timely and accurate parts support for service repairs and customer inquiries.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing excess stock.
- Build and manage vendor relationships; negotiate pricing and delivery terms.
- Handle parts returns, warranty claims, and track inbound/outbound shipments.
- Maintain precise documentation for parts transactions and inventory records.
- Cook up and coordinate with the service department to forecast and fulfill parts needs.
- Track department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and implement strategies to achieve monthly targets.
- Ensure safety and compliance with company policies and OSHA guidelines.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in parts management (trailer, automotive, or heavy equipment preferred).
- Proven success in inventory control, vendor negotiations, and team leadership.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable using inventory software and Microsoft Office programs.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required; additional education is a plus.
Qualifications
Must be able to lift and move up to 70 lbs. Frequent walking, standing, reaching, bending, and lifting. Use of hands, arms, and visual focus for handling parts and tools. Work is primarily performed in a warehouse/shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and equipment. Occasional office tasks using standard office equipment. Forklift certification and safety training provided upon hire.
