Parts Counter Specialist

About the role

The Parts Counter Specialist position at GTG Peterbilt in Cedar Rapids, IA, assists mechanics and customers with acquiring parts, advises on available parts and services, and sells parts to help achieve sales goals. This role also involves stocking shelves, pulling customer orders, maintaining inventory, and assisting with core returns.

Responsibilities

• Aid mechanics and customers in acquiring parts.
• Locate parts mechanics might need to finish their jobs.
• Answer customer questions, provide price quotes in-person and over the phone.
• Sell parts to help achieve sales goals.
• Stock shelves on display and in the warehouse.
• Pull customer orders.
• Maintain inventory, perform cycle counts, and assist with core returns.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Self-starter with a positive attitude.
• Automotive or truck part-related experience a plus but not required.
• Multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate updates to both internal and external customers.
• Mechanical knowledge is essential.

Requirements

• Intermediate computer skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of sales/customer service experience.
• One year of automotive or truck parts experience.
