Hill International Trucks, the Tri-State area’s largest medium- and heavy-duty truck and trailer dealership, is seeking a full-time Experienced Parts Counter Salesperson for the New Philadelphia, OH location.

Responsibilities

  • Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials, ensuring exposure to the full product line.
  • Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
  • Reviews body shop estimates to verify correct parts and pricing.
  • Provides a high level of service to internal and external customers.
  • Pulls and fills orders from stock.
  • Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials needing immediate attention.
  • Locates out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submits emergency orders if necessary.
  • Notifies service advisors and customers when special ordered parts are received.
  • Notifies the body shop when all parts have arrived and confirms delivery timing.
  • Pulls orders for delivery to the body shop, tagging parts with customer names and job numbers.
  • Follows up on back-ordered parts.
  • Verifies will-call and back-order files weekly, returning or stocking unclaimed items.
  • Replenishes assigned inventory daily.
  • Assists outside sales representatives with their orders.
  • Ensures all internal parts requests are billed on service repair orders.
  • Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization.
  • Ensures all charge sales are signed by the customer.
  • Provides customers with a copy of their invoice.
  • Issues credit for returned parts, verifying original invoice and pricing.
  • Issues and tracks requested shop tools to technicians.
  • Maintains orderly records of repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special-order parts.
  • Sets up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
  • Solicits assigned accounts by phone.
  • Keeps front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered.
  • Cleans computer terminals and printers daily.
  • Participates in all available training programs.
  • Stays current on new products and updates.
  • Assists the parts manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking program.
  • Maintains a professional appearance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 5+ years of prior experience in an automotive, heavy-duty truck, or tractor parts sales role.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Punctual, reliable, and excellent work ethic and service standards.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to interpret vendor catalogs.
  • Proficiency with parts department computer systems, calculators, forklifts, and hand trucks.
  • Ability to use mechanical tools such as crimpers, cutters, pliers, wrenches, and tape measures.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Physical and Environmental Conditions

  • Requires standing for long periods.
  • Requires accurate, knowledgeable, and detailed work.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and twisting.
  • Frequent lifting of objects weighing 5 to 80 pounds.
  • Frequent telephone use and professional phone etiquette.
  • Occasional lifting of objects over 80 pounds.
  • Must communicate and work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Requires some outdoor work in all weather conditions for loading/unloading parts.

Pay

$22–$27 per hour, plus monthly bonuses based on total sales.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with Saturdays 7:00 AM–4:00 PM as needed.
