About the role

Quality Truck Care Center is a family-owned business in the Fox Valley since 1986. We represent Western Star, Autocar and, as of January 2025, became the first XCMG dealer in Wisconsin. We are certified in Detroit, Cummins, CAT engines, Allison and Detroit transmissions and axles. We have four locations—De Pere, Appleton, Oshkosh and Fond du Lac—from which you can work.

Responsibilities

  • Approach and greet customers who enter the sales office or lot.
  • Assist customers in vehicle selection and ask appropriate questions to determine needs.
  • Explain product performance, application, benefits, optional equipment, depreciation and warranty to prospective clients.
  • Offer test-drives to prospects after obtaining proper identification per dealership policy.
  • Follow dealership sales and follow-up procedures, including processing paperwork (sales orders, insurance, title, etc.) and turning in completed closed deals to the Accountant.
  • Prepare sold vehicles for customer delivery and deliver vehicles to customers, explaining all operating features and paperwork.
  • Perform post-delivery follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain a follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business.
  • Maintain a prospect development system and be responsible for dealer trades, both pickup and delivery, and prospects daily.
  • Represent Quality Truck Care Center in a professional manner, maintaining a professional appearance for self and work area.
  • Stay current on new products, features, and accessories; attend training as requested by the manager and participate in sales meetings.
  • Proficient with OEM-provided programs such as SpecPro, Fusonet, DTNA Connect, The Dash, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and comprehension of federal and state regulations governing medium- and heavy-duty equipment sales.
  • Minimum of one year of truck or heavy-duty equipment sales experience and/or training.
  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Knowledge of the heavy/medium-duty truck and trailer industry.
  • Effective oral communication and presentation skills; ability to establish and maintain effective customer relations.
  • Math skills necessary to calculate discounts, interest, etc.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Current state sales license.
  • Must possess a valid Wisconsin Commercial Driver’s License.

Work Environment

The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, dirt, dust, and fumes from the shop below. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
