Responsibilities

• Sell parts to all customers, over the counter, through the shop, or on the phone.
• Aid all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts based on customer needs.
• Inform customers about companion part requirements, specials, and the full product line.
• Answer phone calls, provide price quotes, and offer other information.
• Handle incoming orders from stock, notify the parts manager of out-of-stock parts, and submit emergency orders if necessary.
• Notify the service advisor and customer when special ordered parts have arrived.
• Follow up on back-ordered parts and verify will-call and back-order files weekly.
• Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
• Manage internal requests for parts and ensure they are billed correctly.
• Issue credit for parts returned and ensure the original invoice is available for verification.
• Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
• Solicit assigned accounts by phone.
• Participate in inventory management duties as needed.
• Ensure front and rear counter areas are clean and uncluttered.
• Participate in all training programs offered.
• Stay updated on new products and product updates.
• Work with the parts manager to maintain a lost sales tracking program.
• Work in a team environment.
• Maintain a professional appearance.
• Manage inventory accuracy, restock, and ensure proper merchandise presentation.
• Adhere to and promote all existing health and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Three to six months’ related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge required.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents, speak effectively, perform mathematical calculations, and apply common sense understanding.
• Absolutely necessary: Valid Driver's License meeting company insurability standards.

Skills

Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications preferred, Medium/Heavy Truck Parts Specialist Certification preferred.
