About the Role

Parts Support plays a key role in assisting the Parts Department to deliver excellent service to AVE-PLP customers, parts personnel, and service technicians. This position reports to the Parts Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a good rapport with AVE-PLP customers and employees.
  • Transfer parts and equipment to other locations as needed.
  • Assist in keeping the Parts Department clean and orderly.
  • Supply service technicians with parts as required.
  • Assist the Parts Manager with merchandising displays.
  • Maintain inventory integrity by stocking parts in their proper locations.
  • Sell parts to AVE-PLP customers at the store and at customer locations.
  • Perform other duties as required to ensure the success of AVE-PLP.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) equivalent is required.
  • One year of customer service experience is preferred.
  • Previous merchandising and parts sales experience is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Skills

  • Ability to consistently promote and support AVE-PLP’s values and culture.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
  • Effective communication skills (in person, on the phone, and in writing).
  • Proficiency in standard desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Office) and internet functions.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • Forklift license preferred or ability to obtain one.

Additional Requirements

  • Passing a driving record (MVR), criminal history background check, employment verification, and drug screen prior to employment.

Working Environment

The role involves occasional outdoor work in extreme weather conditions, walking on uneven terrain, and exposure to insects. You may also encounter moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and vibration. The noise level is moderate. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, including cold weather gear, eye protection, gloves, and a provided uniform. A clean and safety-conscientious environment is maintained.

Work may require long hours and overtime during holidays, weekends, and evenings. You will be required to rotate on-call responsibilities for up to one week at a time.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand, sit, walk (including on unpaved terrain), talk, and reach with arms and hands.
  • Good manual dexterity for operating computers, telephones, and tools.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear; may involve climbing ladders, stairs, or catwalks.
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and kneeling; working in confined spaces.
  • Vision requirements: close, distance, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Frequent lifting, positioning, and carrying of loads up to 5 pounds upstairs and onto four-foot-high surfaces.
  • Moderate physical work involving lifting, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds occasionally.
