Partnership Tax Senior Manager, Advanced Computational Services
About the role
The Tax Senior Manager, Partnerships at BDO is responsible for advising clients on partnership taxation, applying knowledge to prepare computations, and participating in marketing and business development. This role requires specialized partnership experience, supervisory experience, and a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics.
Responsibilities
- Maintains and develops an in-depth understanding of partnership taxation issues
- Develops and implements efficient methods to maximize client benefits, especially by decreasing taxes
- Applies tax knowledge and business/industry knowledge to recommend solutions
- Manages client expectations and implements applicable Firm strategies
- Introduces and develops new or improved ideas to improve the position of clients, the Firm, or Firm personnel
- Researches and implements tax strategies, including experimenting with new strategies
- Trains and mentors associates, senior associates, and managers on research skills and tax issue framing
- Manages workload, schedules, and provides performance feedback to associates, senior associates, and managers
Requirements
This role requires eight or more years of relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience. Specialized partnership experience, supervisory experience, and a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics are also required. A CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or the equivalent of one of these designations) is preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, required; major in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics, preferred
- Master’s in Accountancy or Taxation, preferred
- Eight (8) or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience, required
- Prior supervisory experience, required
- Private equity experience, both fund and portfolio company levels, preferred
- Licenses/Certifications: CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or the equivalent of one of these designations), preferred
- Software proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite, preferred
- Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software, preferred
