About the role
We are hiring a part‑time Visual Merchandiser to bring the New York Islanders brand to life through compelling displays, signage, and store layouts across the Islanders team store at UBS Arena and the Pro Shop at Northwell Health Ice Center. The role reports to the Assistant Manager and works closely with the retail team to plan, install, and maintain visual displays that align with brand standards, promotions, and new product launches.
Responsibilities
- Install and maintain visually compelling merchandise displays, fixtures, and signage at both the UBS Arena team store and the Pro Shop.
- Execute seasonal, promotional, and new‑product merchandising resets in line with brand and league guidelines.
- Ensure consistent visual presentation and brand standards across both retail locations.
- Partner with the retail team to plan floor sets, window displays, and in‑store promotions around home games, events, and key retail dates.
- Monitor inventory levels on the sales floor and restock/replenish merchandise to maintain full, organized displays.
- Assist with receiving and processing shipments and verify the accuracy of package contents.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe sales floor and back‑of‑house presentation.
- Support pricing, tagging, and labeling of new merchandise.
- Take photos of completed displays and maintain a visual library for reference and reporting.
- Assist retail staff with guest service and sales support on the floor as needed.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Game Presentation, Partnerships, and other departments on visual initiatives as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); coursework or experience in visual merchandising, design, or retail is a plus.
- 1–2 years of experience in retail, visual merchandising, or a related field.
- Strong sense of style, color, and spatial design.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and displays simultaneously.
- Comfortable using basic tools (ladders, hand tools, fixtures) to build and adjust displays.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Flexible schedule with availability for nights, weekends, holidays, events, and ability to work 80 % of scheduled events monthly.
- Ability to travel between UBS Arena and Northwell Health Ice Center as needed.
- Physical ability to walk, stand, kneel, climb ladders for long periods, and lift/move up to 25 lb.
- Previous experience in retail at a sports or entertainment venue is a plus.
