Part-time Veterinary Assistant/Kennel Technician

Cypress Creek Animal Hospital is an AAHA-accredited hospital providing advanced medicine, surgery, diagnostics, and wellness care for pets in Ruston and the surrounding community. Responsibilities

• Safely restrain and handle pets during exams and treatments
• Assist with patient care, including feeding, walking, cleaning, and monitoring hospitalized and boarding pets
• Prepare exam rooms, surgical patients, and equipment
• Collect basic lab samples, assist with diagnostic imaging, and administer treatments as directed
• Maintain a clean, safe hospital environment and provide excellent client service

Physical requirements

• Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and work around loud noises, strong odors, animal waste, and animals that may bite or scratch

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant, Kennel Technician, or in an animal care setting preferred
• Compassionate, dependable, team-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable safely handling and restraining pets of all sizes
• Experience with patient care, cleaning and maintaining kennels, collecting basic lab samples, or assisting with treatments is a plus
• Eager to learn, grow, and provide exceptional care for patients and clients
