Part-time Veterinary Kennel Technician

St. Francis Animal Hospital is a well-established, progressive, fast-paced 2.5-doctor companion animal and exotics practice located in beautiful Northwest Arkansas. We offer comprehensive care including preventative care, surgery, urgent care, dentistry, cold laser therapy, in-house diagnostics, digital full-body radiology, ultrasonography, and boarding.

Responsibilities

• Care, feeding, medicating, and cleaning of patients in the hospital and boarding facility
• Cleaning, laundry, bathing, feeding, and walking dogs
• Medicating patients and restocking hospital supplies
• Assisting with post-operative patients and animal restraint during exams
• Proper recordkeeping of medications, special foods, appetite, behavior, and any issues that arise while animals are in our care
• Training to clean and sterilize surgical instruments

Requirements

• Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting methods
• Proper methods of animal restraint
• Ability to use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency
• Perform moderately heavy physical labor (e.g., handling large dogs, bags of litter, pet foods)
• Ability to sympathetically and patiently attend to sick, scared, and injured animals
• Ability to learn to administer medications and recognize abnormal conditions
• Understand and carry out oral and written directions
• Maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of the job
• Saturday and Sunday availability required
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
