About the role
The Universal Banker position involves performing routine branch duties to maintain Sauk Valley Bank's customer service culture and standards. This role also identifies and pursues cross-selling opportunities, ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a high level of service delivery for retail banking products and services within the banking office, adhering to the Hug Your Customer standard.
- Independently make sound decisions based on bank policies, knowledge, and experience.
- Perform all Teller functions and adhere to bank policies and procedures.
- Receive and facilitate consumer loan applications and the consumer lending process.
- Handle Personal Banking functions including opening, servicing, and closing all deposit transaction accounts.
- Open, service, and close all certificates of deposit, IRA’s, and H.S.A. accounts.
- Represent Sauk Valley Bank in bank-sponsored events.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- One year of cash handling and customer service background.
- Financial institution operations, sales, or customer service experience.
- Intermediate knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations and SVB operational policies.
- Intermediate math skills.
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with general supervision.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of cash handling and customer service background.

- Bilingual preferred but not required.
- Intermediate knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations and SVB operational policies.
