Enoch Elementary is seeking a Part-Time Title I Reading Paraprofessional and Lunch Monitor to work 27.5 hours per week. This position will remain open until filled.

About the role

This position provides support to the instructional program under the direction of the supervising teacher, with specific responsibility for assisting in the supervision, care, and instruction of students. The role is distinguished by its focus on working specifically with disadvantaged students and providing instructional support to student groups.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development, maintenance, and implementation of systems for classroom and small-group management.
  • Guide students in working and interacting harmoniously with others.
  • Conduct classroom activities and/or assignments under the direction of the supervising teacher to support and reinforce classroom objectives.
  • Assist in maintaining instructional materials and manual/electronic files (e.g., test scores) to ensure availability and compliance with requirements.
  • Provide instruction to students in individual and group activities (e.g., literacy, math) under the supervision of the assigned teacher to reinforce instructional objectives.
  • Assist in assessing students and responding to data.
  • Attend meetings, conferences, and in-service training programs (e.g., paraeducator conference, medical needs trainings) to acquire and convey job-related information.
  • Report observations and incidents (e.g., progress, behavior, academic achievement, social interaction) to appropriate instructional staff to improve student outcomes.
  • Respond to emergency situations (e.g., student injuries, socially inappropriate behavior) to resolve immediate safety concerns.
  • Communicate with supervising instructional staff to assist in evaluating student progress.
  • Operate office equipment such as computers and copy machines.
  • Comply with established district policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance and job performance.
  • Basic computer knowledge, familiarity with Google Docs, and frequent email checking.
  • Willingness to learn and use all computer systems and software as needed.
