About the role
Join our team in Northampton, MA as a part-time teacher in a fast-paced behavioral health facility. You will provide academic support to child and adolescent school-age patients in a small classroom setting (typically 8–15 students) while they receive treatment. This unique position involves planning and delivering daily lesson plans, offering individualized assistance, and communicating student progress as needed. You will also monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports.
Schedule
Part-time, 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM–5:00 PM.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver daily lesson plans tailored to school-age patients in a behavioral health setting.
- Provide individualized academic support and assistance to students.
- Communicate student progress with treatment teams and families as needed.
- Monitor and adjust teaching strategies to maximize student success.
- Maintain accurate attendance and session reports.
Requirements
- B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited institution.
- Massachusetts state teaching license.
- Comfortable working with adolescent students.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Understanding of subject matter relevant to student needs.
- Reliable transportation.
