This part-time Student Office Assistant role supports the Executive Administrative Assistant for the Vice Chancellor, helping students navigate their time at IU and develop career readiness and workforce skills.

Responsibilities
- Answers telephone calls, assesses the needs of the caller, and routes information or calls to the appropriate staff member.
- Greets and checks in all visitors, offering general office information and assistance as needed.
- Picks up, drops off, and sorts incoming departmental mail.
- Assists with daily office organization and record keeping.
- Answers questions and provides resources to parents, students, faculty, alumni, and others.
- Performs computer work, which may include database entry, updating newsletters/calendars, and producing materials for programs and workshops.
- Assists with set-up, participation, staffing, and cleanup of events such as the Student Life Kickoff and First Day of School snacks sponsored by Student Life.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University Bloomington.
- 6 months of office experience.
Skills
- Self-motivated and able to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Comfortable interacting with a variety of people in professional or campus settings.

The position is primarily sedentary but does involve movement around the office and campus for tasks such as mail delivery. The person in this role must be able to move items up to 25 pounds. All essential functions can be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
Schedule
- 5 hours per week, with potential for additional hours based on departmental needs.
- The selected candidate must be available to work Monday through Thursday between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to provide office coverage during lunch periods.
This is an in-person position located in Bloomington, Indiana.
Pay
$12.00 per hour.
