About the role

Providing support to create an environment that promotes teamwork, continuous improvement, learning, customer satisfaction, and high standards of service.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and connect with every customer to provide excellent customer service.
  • Discover customer needs and appropriately suggest products with every customer to enhance service and meet sales goals.
  • Assist customers in the selection and purchase of specialty coffee beverages and whole bean sales if applicable.
  • Respond to customers' needs and say thank you to every customer.
  • Demonstrate “just say yes” behavior when taking care of customer needs.
  • Maintain quality store operations.
  • Prepare a variety of customer beverage orders such as espresso drinks and coffee of the week to Starbucks standards.
  • Follow store policies and procedures for operational flow at each station.
  • Perform cleaning tasks in accordance with the duty rosters and cleaning standards and work as a team player.
  • Present oneself professionally and demonstrate clear communication by using star skills with all customer and partner interactions.
  • Follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating and storing all products.
  • Perform equipment maintenance in accordance with preventive maintenance checklist.
  • Follow cash handling and register procedures.
  • Follow inventory stocking and recording guidelines.
  • Learn and demonstrate creating the Starbucks Experience.
  • Learn and demonstrate all performance standards by completing initial store training and passing barista certification with a score of 90% or better.
  • Learn seasonal Starbucks promotional drinks and merchandise.

Qualifications

  • The minimum requirement for applicants is a High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) degree equivalent is required.
  • Related experience and/or advanced training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • A Food Handler certificate from the County of San Diego is preferred.

Pay

Compensation: $20.00 per hour

Supplemental Information

Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule based on operational needs. This may include opening, mid-day, and closing shifts, as well as night shifts, weekends, and holidays throughout the year.

Background Check Information

A background check will be conducted after a conditional offer of employment is extended by the company and accepted by the applicant and must be satisfactorily completed prior to any applicant beginning work in a full-time, part-time non-student, or sensitive student capacity with Aztec Shops Ltd.
