About the role
This role involves working with students to assess and treat communication disorders affecting speech, language, cognition, and swallowing, in collaboration with the IEP team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations to identify communication disorders.
- Develop and implement therapeutic programs tailored to student needs.
- Assist teachers and families in supporting student communication development.
- Ensure compliance with state and district guidelines.
- Participate in school activities and maintain materials and documentation.
- Serve as a resource and guide staff in addressing communication challenges.
- Maintain confidential records in accordance with professional and district standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, aligned with district policies.
Requirements
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology license.
- Commitment to professional growth and adherence to professional standards.
Skills
- Effective communication with students, staff, and community organizations.
- Collaboration with the IEP team and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work in diverse environments and adapt to varying physical demands (e.g., prolonged sitting/standing, occasional lifting).
Qualifications
- Experience serving as a resource for staff and guiding interventions.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate and confidential records.
