Part-Time Sonographer

About the Role

The Northwestern Specialists for Women, a practice partner of Together Women’s Health (TWH), has an immediate opportunity for a part-time Sonographer to join our team. The Sonographer is responsible for acquiring ultrasound images used in medical diagnoses, performing sonography in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice, and adhering to the organization’s policies, values, and mission. Our technicians maintain a team-oriented approach to patient care and documentation. Must be available to work Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 7:45 AM to 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients courteously and ensures their needs are met.
• Reviews patient identification and verifies physician orders.
• Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of imaging procedures, and answering questions.
• Reviews images, makes initial observations, documents exceptions from established protocols, and communicates data to physicians.
• Maximizes production and quality of ultrasounds by following established standards and procedures.
• Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures.
• Documents patient ultrasound services by completing patient record charting.
• Participates in process improvement activities within radiology practice, including quality of care, patient flow, reject-repeat analysis, and patient satisfaction.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a certified ultrasound program.
• ARDMS certified and in good standing.
• Experience in an OBGYN setting is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with patients in a professional and caring manner.
