About the role
Under general direction, the Security Guard patrols Housing Authority grounds, buildings, and surrounding areas to help protect individuals and property. Security Guards play an important role in maintaining a secure and welcoming environment while enforcing established rules and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Monitor for unauthorized activity
- Report potential safety concerns
- Assist with incident response
- Help prevent theft, vandalism, trespassing, and other violations
Requirements
- Valid SORA (Security Officer Registration Act) license at the time of application
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license may be required if operating a vehicle is necessary
- Strong observation skills and sound judgment
- Professionalism and ability to interact respectfully with residents and the public
- Prior security experience preferred but not required
Schedule
Scheduled workdays are Saturday and Sunday.
