This position assists with answering phones, maintaining records, typing correspondence, and performing general office duties to support daily operations. Work requires attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently under limited supervision. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience Graduation from high school and moderate experience in office assistance work. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the specific requirements listed above Certifications/Licenses Possession of a driver’s license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Communication Skills: Routine: Requires regular & routine interaction involving exchange and receipt of information. Technical Skills: Skilled: Work requires a comprehensive, practical knowledge of a technical field with use of analytical judgment and decision-making abilities appropriate to the assigned and apparent job responsibilities. Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and office assistance techniques; thorough knowledge in the use of standard office equipment, computer and associated software; thorough knowledge of business English and spelling; ability to type and transcribe dictation accurately and at a reasonable rate of speed. Reading Intermediate: Ability to read papers, periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and reference materials. Writing Intermediate: Ability to write reports, prepare business letters, expositions, and summaries with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speech Math Intermediate: Ability to deal with a system of real numbers; and practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions and measurement.
