Part-Time Research Assistant/Associate - Muscle Function and Locomotion - Biomechanics Laboratory
JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Muscle Function and Locomotion Group within Penn State’s Biomechanics Laboratory is seeking a dedicated part-time laboratory assistant to support ongoing research projects and routine laboratory maintenance. The primary focus of the lab member will be to assist on an animal-based experimental protocols. Duties will include animal monitoring, assistance with experimental procedures (e.g. biomechanical movement assessments, metabolic measurements), and supply ordering, among others. The lab member may also interact on human-based research projects and, depending on experience, may assist on electronics and in designing and manufacturing novel research equipment and software.
- Comfortable interacting with animals in research
- Required to undertake the required institutional training (IACUC, EHS, etc.) prior to working on research protocols
QUALIFICATIONS
The applicant does not require prior animal or human research work but must be comfortable interacting with animals in research. The applicant will be required to undertake the required institutional training (IACUC, EHS, etc.) prior to working on research protocols.
