Part-Time Registration Representative

About the role

The Central Registration Representative is responsible for obtaining information to register services. There are three types of registration: face to face, over the phone and clinical. Quickness, accuracy and effective communication are needed to gather information to be assimilated into the hospital system.

Responsibilities

• Pre-registers patients for hospital and specialty areas with accuracy.
• Registers patients for hospital and specialty areas with accuracy.
• Processes the transfer of patients from other hospitals and facilities.
• Performs insurance authorizations for patient registrations as necessary.
• Processes patients with appropriate diagnosis as required by specific insurance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Medical terminology required.
• Previous physician office or medical facility experience including insurance background required.
• Computer experience, good data entry skills needed.
• Must have good communication and telephone skills, ability to deal with the general public in a professional and courteous manner and the ability to exercise independent judgment.
