Part-Time Recreation Leader III

Delivers programs and events directly to the public, opens and closes facilities, assists with planning, gathering and organizing supplies/equipment, set-up, assigning duties, and take-down for programs and events. Performs cursory cleanup of the facility as needed, follows all City of Conroe and Center policies and procedures, and is responsible for the care and safety of participants.

Responsibilities

• Follow City of Conroe and Center policies and procedures

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one year of experience in a leadership role
• Possession of a valid class "C" Texas driver's license or higher
• Ability to obtain relevant certifications within time period designated by supervisor
• Must comply with City of Conroe direct deposit payroll policy
• Must pass background check and pre-employment substance abuse screening
• A motor vehicle record check and job-related doctor's physical exam may also be required
• Safety-sensitive positions remain subject to random drug and alcohol testing after hire

Skills

• Experience in public program/event delivery and staff supervision
• Experience working with children
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Knowledge of cash handling

Physical Demands

The work is medium and requires the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The following physical abilities are required:

Pay

Starting salary for this position is $13.65 hourly.
