Part-Time Recreation Leader (Afterschool)

About the role

With supervision, assists in delivering programs and events directly to the public. Assists with set up and take down for programs and events, performs assigned duties and cursory clean‑up of the facility as needed, follows all City of Conroe and Center policies and procedures, and is responsible for the care and safety of participants.

Requirements

• Knowledge of cash handling.
• Experience working with children.
• Experience in communication and customer service.
• Experience with public programs and events.
• Minimum age of 16 years.
• Ability to obtain relevant certifications within the time period designated by the supervisor.
• Pass a background check and pre‑employment substance‑abuse screening; motor vehicle record check and job‑related physical exam may be required.
• Safety‑sensitive positions are subject to random drug and alcohol testing after hire.

Physical Demands

The work is medium and requires the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Required physical abilities include crouching, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, talking, visual acuity, and walking.

Pay

Starting salary is $10.69 per hour.
