Position Summary
Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation is excited to add a Part Time Front Desk Recreation Assistant to the team at Marion Diehl Recreation Center. This position will assist with front desk operations and participate in membership promotion and enrollment, communication of facility policies to patrons, give tours of the facility and provide overall customer service to our community. In addition, this position may also assist with recreation activities and special events at the facility. The preferred candidate is committed to delivering exceptional customer service experiences for all visitors.
Schedule
- Approximately 16 hours per week
- Primarily late afternoon/evening shifts (4:00pm–9:00pm)
- Rotating weekends based on business/facility needs
Essential Functions
- Provide customer service and handling of funds in a recreation center or park facility through telephone, emails, web site, social media and walk in patrons and customers for information, program registration, center daily use and rentals
- Ensure safety of participants/spectators and administer first aid when necessary
- Enforce rules and regulations
- Collect fees and taking registrations for recreational programs and facility rentals
- Assist in light maintenance of facilities and recreational areas
- May assist with various recreational programs for all ages
- Handle inquiries and complaints from public
- Assist with special events and field trips as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience: No experience required
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted: Yes
- Licenses & Certifications: Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License and County Driving Privileges; CPR/First Aid
- Computer Skills: General knowledge of various computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite
